Essex Boy turned global pop superstar and TV personality is getting married this year and has been to Abigail’s Collection & The Grooms Room in Colchester High Street to browse suits ahead of his wedding to fiancé Amelia Tank rumoured to be happening this summer!
Olly Murs has released 7 studio albums and 25 singles and his latest album, so aptly titled ‘Marry Me’ entered straight in at Number 1 in December. He’s one of the UK’s best loved performers and since bursting onto the music scene as runner up on the 2009 series of The X Factor our favourite Witham Boy has achieved incredible success!
It’s no wonder that local business owners Abigail and Robert Neill were more than a little happy when Mr Murs called Abi to talk about suits for his upcoming wedding, Abi Neill says; ‘It was fantastic, we really like Olly, He’s a great Guy, very down to earth considering his massive success! We have actually worked with him before when he was Best Man for one of our Grooms and we obviously did a good job then because he’s back to see us for his own wedding now! It’s such an honour! We always said if he needed anything to get in touch and we’re so glad he phoned’.
Abi and Rob Neill have owned their multi award winning Colchester wedding outfitters for 18 years, they provide ‘a VIP shopping experience to remember’ for Brides and Grooms. Bridal Industry Influencer and Business Coach Abi goes on to say, ‘We’re really proud to have worked with lots of celebrities and Influencers over the years, Gok Wan, Rylan Clark, Vicky Pattison, Sophie & Jake Quickenden, Jammi Dodger, Dan Edgar and Cheryl Hole to name a few but Olly is so exciting for us because our Daughter Arabella is such a huge Fan!’ Chuckling she goes on to say ‘When Olly came in this time she welcomed him in at reception and tried not to be too starstruck! Difficult for an 11-year-old, but she was super professional and offered him a drink and they talked about the latest album and her favourite songs, it was really special’.
Whilst understandably, Olly Murs won’t give anything away about the wedding or what he or his wedding party will be wearing, about his visit to The Grooms Room, he said ‘Rob knows his stuff and it made sense for my Groomsmen to keep it in Essex plus I’m a local Boy at heart and like to support great businesses! The wedding planning is going very well thanks, Amelia and I are super excited and grateful for the love and support… and yeah, it’s a really exciting, special year for us what with the wedding, my tour and Marry Me album.’
When asked what it’s like to style and work with Olly, Rob Neill said ‘Olly is particular about the fit and cut of clothing and he looks for detail. He has professional Stylists and has been in the limelight for years so he knows what he likes and how to dress well. Physique wise he’s in great shape so naturally he looks good in a well cut suit. I couldn’t possibly comment on any decisions he’s made regarding suits but put it this way his Groomsmen and of course Olly are going to look fantastic, we’re so excited for him and Amelia – they genuinely are one of the nicest couples we’ve ever met’.
